Subsidized Loans

There is a maximum available to be attributed to subsidized loans. Subsidized portions are determined based on cost of attendance less expected family contribution and scholarships (other financial aid). This is determined by the University. Subsidized loans do not bear interest while the student is in university.

Unsubsidized Loans

The maximum available unsubsidized loan is calculated as the maximum loan available less the eligible subsidized loans as outlined above. Unsubsidized loans do accrue interest while in university. However, the student may pay the interest while studying or it will capitalize as part of the loan principal upon completion of university.
